30 May 2012ROBINSON CRUSOE- The Origins
26 October 2012Touch & Go is a very funny comedy play previously performed by WADS and well received back in 1995. The fact that we were both familiar with it was influential in its choice for us as debut producers.
We have been active members of WADS both on and off stage, for many years and had independently considered producing. Producing as a duo has worked well for us and the help and support we have received from WADS members has no doubt made our first attempt at the job much easier. It is very much appreciated.
Working with the five very committed cast members, one of whom is making her acting debut and all the back stage production team has been a real joy. We hope and believe that will be reflected in the fun and enjoyment that they and especially our audiences experience during the three performances of Derek Benfield’s wonderful comedy.
Gill Murray & John Worsfold
When Brian takes up jogging, his wife Hilary is not surprised. She has often told him he should exercise more after all the business lunches he consumes. However, when Brian is ostensibly running around the park he is, in fact, spending a couple of hours with his girl friend, Wendy, in his good friend George’s flat. The arrangement works well for some time, for while Brian is somewhat distracted, helpful George knows that there is no danger of his own dalliance being discovered; for the object of his affection is Brian’s wife, Hilary! It is all plain sailing until George’s wife returns too soon from a business trip to America and puts the cat amongst the pigeons!
The resulting confusions and mistaken identities provide an evening of uproarious and innocent fun for the whole family.
